Leeds-based singer-songwriter Fran Smith has captivated audiences across the UK, US, and Canada, with her beguilingly tender yet powerful voice, memorable melodies, and evocative lyrics.

Described by The Guardian’s Simon Hattenstone as blending “the melancholy of late seventies Fleetwood Mac with the caustic know-how of the Arctic Monkeys”, every one of her self-released songs to date has received national BBC radio play.

Previously named as a “BBC Live Music Highlight of the Year” following a dazzling solo performance in Hyde Park, London, Fran has performed live sessions on BBC radio, alongside artists including Jessie Ware.

She has opened shows for some of her biggest musical influences, including Martha Wainwright, Joan as Police Woman, and award-winning folk singer Karine Polwart, all of whom have praised Fran’s sensual, witty, acerbic songwriting.

She has also shared stages with spoken-word poets including Hollie McNish and John Cooper Clarke.
